Bio

Phil is an actor, stand-up comic, host, and writer recognized for his physical comedy and character invention. He has also directed solo shows for Precious Chong, daughter of comedy legend Tommy Chong, and for comedy partner Sandra Battaglini. Their show, Classy Lady, won a 2013 Canadian Comedy Award.

Together, Phil and Sandra also write and host the hit live shows The Sal & Sandy Show and Family Slides. TV & Film credits include the ABC mini-series, The Path to 9/11, opposite Harvey Keitel; The Devil’s Tail (Winner Beloit International Film Festival, Mexico International Film Festival, Moving Image Film Festival); Nimby (winner, Atom Egoyan’s Toronto Urban Film Festival).

Phil has been invited to perform the title role in Michel Tremblay’s Hosanna for Piccadilly Circus at the Players Guild Studio. Other theatre credits include the title role in Othello at Toronto’s Theatre Passe Muraille, Nino in a Canadian tour of Mambo Italiano, and Marvin in The Cygnet Theatre Company’s world premiere of Pinned Up: The Exploits of Bettie. He also played Tony in the hit off-Broadway comedy Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding at The Second City, Toronto.

Currently, Phil is writing and starring in a new comedy series, Dr. Eddie, playing the opinionated – and unlicensed – title role. He is also an ensemble cast member of Precious Chong’s two brand new series, Chinatown, and Funny or Die’s new featured hit comedy Sex & the Single Parent.
